Sounds of Silence

Death Valley Blues

Oil on Canvas/rusted Can

It seems antiquated in today’s fast paced, digital, gender ID’d, social media driven and dominated world, to paint a piece of :

Ancient Bristlecone pine, a methuselah pine, woods in the winter or desolation desert dunes.

They are neither trendy nor in sink with the Zeitgeist, but they are there: Silent.

I want to give them a voice.

I want to get in touch with the viewer to awake a dormant desire to visit and value the other world, which is there, vast, gigantic and intimate.
I want to invite you to explore those silent treasures and listen to their stories.

I used the media Oil on canvas and integrated a piece of nature which I found on the trail : ( Rusted can pieces, wood pieces, bees nest, fiber)
